Austrian customers visit Perstorp

Mid-September our Austrian Distributor Agromed, paid a visit to the Perstorp head office in the town of Perstorp, Sweden. They had invited the biggest Austrian customers of Perstorp Performance Additives' products along for this special occasion.

The day started off with some tea or coffee and presentations on Perstorp and it's products. First there was a presentation regarding Perstorp in the past and in the future, followed by Dr. Marc Kinjet speaking generally about our acidifiers, mould inhibitors, antioxidants and enzyme product lines. Last but not least Hugo Hjelm, product manager Silage additives, went into detail on how our ProMyr® can help make good quality silage.

A tour around the formic acid plant was planned for the second half of the morning. A small bus tour around the Perstorp production site with explanation about the various plants provided an interesting means of transport to the eventual destination. Once arrived at the formic acid plant, Operation Engineer Torbjörn Hall guided the group through the formic acid plant explaining how the formic acid is produced and packed.

Ensiling in practice

After lunch the group ventured out for a field visit. A loyal customer of Perstorp, with 250 dairy cows and 500 hectares of land for feed production for the animals and the growth of other crops, was visited. During the walk around the farm, the manager of the dairy farm explained everything about day-to-day business on the farm. Lars Hanson (Sales Manager for ProMyr® in Sweden) showed how ProMyr® is used in practice, since ProMyr® is used for their grass silage already for a long time.

All visitors were very enthusiastic about the visit. The given information was very interesting, the formic acid plant something completely different from day to day work in a feed mill and having a look at a practice situation in an other country is also always interesting. Herewith we would like to thank the attendees for their interest and our Perstorp-colleagues for their helpfulness to arranging the visit.
